One of the most popular songs about the Great Patriotic War was performed at a solemn rally dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory over the Nazi invaders.
On the eve of Victory Day, the Stavropol State Agrarian University traditionally hosted festive events dedicated to the holiday date. In particular, an interactive exhibition “Towards Victory” was launched on Student Avenue, which tells about the history and role of the university building during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the difficult fate of students and teachers. All residents and guests of the city of Stavropol could get acquainted with the exhibits.
Also, with the support of the deputy of the Duma of the Stavropol Territory Viktor Lozovoy, an exhibition of retro cars and military equipment was organized on the territory of the university, a field kitchen was open for everyone.
Participation in the traditional part of the event - a rally at the obelisk "Eternal glory to the staff, students and teachers of the Stavropol Agricultural Institute who fell on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War" - was taken by the Honored Artist of Russia, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Denis Maidanov.
Together with the rector of the university Vladimir Sitnikov and guests of honor, including a participant in the Great Patriotic War, teacher, scientist and publicist Nikolai Bugaichenko, Denis Maidanov honored the memory of employees and students who died at the front with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the stele with the names of the heroes who gave their lives in battles and killed during the occupation of the city.
- This holiday is forever in the fate of Russia and the fate of each of us. It is on this day that we always address veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, children of war with special warmth, penetration and feeling, with special words of gratitude. We address our students and youth with special words, because it is very, very important for us to keep the memory of this war. We do not have a single family that would not have been touched by the war, and only you and I understand what this victory was worth: how many tears, so much pain, grief, we had to endure in order to win, - Vladimir Sitnikov addressed the guests.
At the end of the rally, Denis Maidanov, together with a thousand students and teachers of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, sang the song "Victory Day" in chorus. In the process of execution, one of the largest copies of the Victory Banner in Russia with an area of 360 square meters was deployed in the courtyard of the university.
